Matsya is the very first of Vishnu's Dashavataras. He appeared as a gigantic golden fish to save the first man (Manu), the Saptarishis, and the Vedas from the great cosmic deluge (Pralaya).
Commemorates the appearance of the Matsya Avatar. Coincides with the vibrant festival of Gangaur.
